Dr Séamus Ryan is a Human Computer Interaction Researcher, focused on the practical steps that need to be taken to make AI fairer and more ethical.

His first work on AI was his undergraduate thesis, which was written in 2010, back when AI was a crunchy, boring field of study. Since then he has gone on to work at, on, and in some of the largest tech companies, complex topics, and prestigious universities, respectively.

This has included time spent at Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta.

Séamus’s personable, grounded, and humorous approach to public speaking has seen him deliver talks and moderate panels for both academic and industry audiences. He is available for speaking and training events on the topics of project management, quantitative research, ethical AI, and life post-academia. for early career researchers and anyone else who may be interested.
